There are two steps when cutting plates with a fiber laser cutting machine: perforation and cutting. With the development of the transportation industry, the use of high-reflective materials such as aluminum alloys is increasing. Therefore, how to achieve fast and stable cutting of high-reflective materials is a problem faced by all laser cutting machine manufacturers.

 

If you want to achieve fast and stable cutting of high-reflective materials, the most critical step is "perforation". The faster the perforation, the smaller the impact of high reflection. Therefore, the shorter the perforation time when cutting high-reflective materials, the better. Therefore, a laser beam with a small spot and high energy density at the spot is required.

Compared with multi-mode lasers, single-mode lasers have thinner core diameters, smaller light spots, and higher concentrated energy. They are the best choice for cutting high-reflective materials with the following advantages:

 

1: The core of a single-mode laser is relatively thin, and the beam quality is better than that of a multi-mode laser

 

2: Single-mode lasers have high reliability. The more complex the multi-mode laser circuits are, the higher the damage rate

 

3: Single-mode lasers are easier to repair

 

4: Smaller size and more power-saving

 

Manufacturers that can make multi-mode lasers may not be able to make single-mode lasers, so single-mode continuous lasers are preferred when cutting high-reflective materials.
