Function of shielding gas during laser welding!

Effects of shielding gas:

In laser welding, shielding gas will affect welding formation, weld quality, weld penetration and weld width. In most cases, blowing in shielding gas will have a positive effect on welding, but it may also bring adverse effects.

Positive effects:

1) Correctly blowing in shielding gas can effectively control the welding molten pool and reduce or even prevent oxidation;

2) Correctly blowing in shielding gas can effectively reduce the spatter generated during welding;

3) Correctly blowing in shielding gas can promote the uniform spreading of the welding molten pool during condensation, and promote the uniform and beautiful welding formation;

4) Correctly blowing in shielding gas can effectively reduce the shielding effect of metal vapor plume or plasma cloud on the laser, and increase the efficient use rate of the laser;
