How to choose welding wire for mold laser welding machine to repair mold?

Many times, welding wire is needed when the mold laser welder repairs the mold, but many customers do not understand the requirements for welding wire materials for different molds. Today I will tell you how to choose the right welding wire to burn the mold.

After the welding melt is cooled, if the metallographic structure of the welding part is consistent with the mold base material, the welding quality can be guaranteed; if it is inconsistent, sand holes, cracks, or loose bonding and falling off may occur. Welding material selection affects welding quality:

1. If the same metal strip as the mold base material is selected as the laser welding wire, the metallographic structure after the metal is melted will be inconsistent with the mold base material, which will affect the welding quality.

2. If stainless steel wire or materials close to stainless steel are selected as laser welding wire, the above problems will also occur, and the hardness after welding cannot be guaranteed. Because stainless steel has a low carbon content and low hardness, the welding position after welding is easy to wear.

3. For different mold materials, the selection of welding wire model does not need to be very strict. As long as the fusion and hardness of the base material are guaranteed after welding, good welding quality can be achieved.

4. Among them, the commonly used welding wires with diameters of 0.3mm, 0.4mm and 0.5mm, the selection of welding wire model is mainly based on the purpose and hardness of the mold. However, the use parameters of each laser welder are different. Therefore, when choosing the welding wire model, you should refer to the welding wire instructions and choose according to the parameters and operating habits of the laser welder.
